Tarte Tatin

Ingredients: A bit of butter Powdered sugar Apples Pastry or puff pastry dough Preparation: 1. Grease the tarte pan and cover with a layer of powdered sugar. 2. Peel the apples and cut into slices. 3. Put the apples into the pan. 4. For caramelisation of the powdered sugar bake for 10-15 minutes at low temperature in the oven. 5. Take out and cover with pastry or puff pastry dough which is a bit bigger than the form. 6. Bake for another 15 minutes. 7. Take out of the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes. 8. Danish Apple Cake

Ingredients: 125 g wheat flour 160 g sugar 100 g butter or margarine 125 g almond or nut flakes 2 eggs 2-3 apples grated peel of 1 untreated lemon Preparation: 1. Whip eggs and sugar together to an airy mass and mix flour and grated lemon peel gently in. 2. Peel apples, remove apple core and cut into thin slices. 3. Pour dough into a baking pan (round or rectangular) with baking paper. 4. Put the apple slices in tight rows, tear cold margarine or butter on top and sprinkle with almonds or nut flakes. Baking Time: 20-25 minutes in a 200° C preheated oven (convection 180° C). The cake may seem a little heavy when done. Source of Recipe: Den Store Bagebog 2
